Author Guidelines

1. Scope of Submission

JACoIT publishes high-quality original research, systematic reviews, and technical reports in the fields of applied computer science, information technology, information systems, data analytics, machine learning, software engineering, computer networks, cybersecurity, and emerging digital technologies. Manuscripts submitted must demonstrate scientific rigor, methodological clarity, and substantial contribution to the discipline.

2. Submission Requirements

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the JACoIT Online Submission System. Prior to submission, ensure that:

  • The manuscript has not been previously published or is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All authors have approved the submitted version.
  • Ethical approval has been obtained for studies involving humans or animals.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest are fully disclosed.
  • Funding information is clearly stated.

3. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared in English using clear, academic, and grammatically correct language. Authors are required to format their manuscripts using the official JACoIT Template. Submissions that do not comply with the template will be returned to authors for correction prior to peer review.

Format Requirements:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 11pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Page numbers: bottom-right
  • Paper length: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references)

4. Manuscript Structure

Authors should structure their manuscripts as follows:

  1. Title
    Concise, specific, and informative.
  2. Author Information
    Full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs.
  3. Abstract
    Maximum 250 words, consisting of Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  4. Keywords
    3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically.
  5. Introduction
    Background, research gap, objectives, and significance.
  6. Literature Review (if applicable)
    Discussion of relevant prior studies, theoretical foundation.
  7. Materials and Methods
    Briefly describe the materials, data sources, instruments, and procedures used in the study. Provide enough detail to allow replication, including the analytical methods applied.
  8. Results
    Present the main findings objectively without interpretation. Use text, tables, or figures as appropriate to clearly convey the results.
  9. Discussion
    Explain the meaning and implications of the findings, relate them to existing theories or previous studies, and highlight the study’s contributions and limitations.
  10. Conclusions
    Provide a concise summary of the key findings and their implications. Highlight the study’s main contributions and, if relevant, suggest directions for future research.
  11. Author Contributions
    State the specific roles and responsibilities of each author in conducting the research and preparing the manuscript.
  12. Funding (if applicable)
    State the sources of financial support for the research, including grant numbers if applicable.
  13. Data Availability Statement (if applicable)
    Indicate the availability of the data used in the study and provide access details or restrictions, if any.
  14. Acknowledgements (optional)
    Funding, institutional support, or contributor recognition.
  15. Conflict of Interest Statement
    Declare any potential conflicts of interest, or state that none exist.
  16. References
    Must follow the IEEE citation and referencing style, include a minimum of 25 references, and ensure that at least 70 percent of them are recent (published within the last five years).

5. Figures and Tables

  • Figures must be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Tables and figures must be cited sequentially in the text.
  • Titles must be clear and descriptive.
  • All visual materials must be original or have proper permissions/licenses.

6. Plagiarism Policy

JACoIT strictly enforces academic integrity.

  • Maximum similarity index: ≤ 20 percent, excluding references.
  • Manuscripts exceeding the limit will be returned for correction or rejected immediately.

Plagiarism includes self-plagiarism, data duplication, fabricated data, and improper citation practices.

7. Peer Review Process

JACoIT employs a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Review outcomes may be: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
  • Authors must respond to all reviewer comments in a point-by-point format.

8. Revision Submission

Revised manuscripts must include:

  • A clean version (without markup)
  • A tracked-changes version
  • A response letter addressing each reviewer’s comment clearly and respectfully

Revisions submitted without complete documentation may be returned to authors.

9. Publication Ethics

The journal adheres to COPE publication ethics guidelines. Authors are responsible for:

  • Accuracy and originality of the work
  • Ethical data handling
  • Proper authorship designation (no ghost or gift authorship)
  • Transparency in methods, data, and potential conflicts

10. Article Processing Charges (APC)

JACoIT may charge APC depending on policy updates from the journal’s management. Any applicable fees will be clearly stated on the official website.

11. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors retain copyright while granting JACoIT the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license unless stated otherwise.

12. Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make datasets, code, and supplementary materials publicly accessible in reputable repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, GitHub) to enhance research transparency and reproducibility.

13. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy

Manuscripts may be withdrawn only before the review process begins.
Published articles may be retracted due to major errors, ethical violations, or proven misconduct, following COPE guidelines.
